Bush Defends Rice’s Dismissal of Iranian Letter

Dear President Bush,

I noted your strong defense of Sec. of State Condoleeza Rice’s comments dismissing the letter from President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad of Iran.

President Bush came out forcefully in support of Sec. Rice this morning. “She had every right to say what she did. The letter did not directly address the nukular issue. As for her words calling it ‘unhelpful and not an opening’, you have to understand Condi’s frame of mind. She was up all night taking dictation from Mahmoud, using a translator to boot. The next day Condi came into my office crying. Mr. Ahmadinejad kept singing during the phone call “Take a Letter Condoleeza, Send it to Your Boss”. It made the whole experience very stressful for Sec. Rice. And she works hard! Those are the end of my prepared remarks. Any questions?”

P.S. This post is fiction except the part about the letter and Condi’s dismissal.
