Bush Proposes New Description for War in Iraq

Stung by the spreading use of “civil war” and no longer happy with “sectarian violence”, President Bush proposed a new term for the 4 year old conflict in his Saturday morning radio talk.

“Many people in our country are wondering about the way forward in Iraq. I suggest we call it ‘the War that Shall Not be Named’, he, he, he… Who wants to talk about the freedom to car bomb, run death squads, and conduct mass kidnappings while American soldiers fall? Nobody does, so we pretend ‘it’ doesn’t exist by taking away its name. Let’s try it for a week or two, at least until the Iraqi Study Group Report suggests another course…”

P.S. Most of the President’s comments above are untrue, fiction, made up by this blogger.
