Bodman Tips Bush’s Hand on Iran

U.S. Energy Secretary just did the opposite of his boss’s approach to energy by encouraging “the free market” not to work. The Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries plans to discuss further production cuts when it meets December 14th. In an uncharacteristic move, Samuel Bodman interfered with this move by suggesting no cuts be made by saying “I encourage them to keep markets well-supplied.”

Is Samuel expecting a dramatic drop in production and wants to ameliorate its impact? The Israeli Foreign Minister said in September the time frame to halt Iran’s nuclear program stood at a few months. Our shopping enthusiast President won’t interfere with Christmas but soon after look for bombs over Tehran courtesy of America’s 51st state, Israel. Recall about the same time Tzipi Livni said only months remain to stop Iran, Bush said an attack on the Jewish state would be an attack on America.

When is the new Congress sworn in? Look for bombs to fall just prior to that event.
