In yet another attempt to pass the buck, House Speaker asked the Justice Department head, Alberto Gonzales to:
"undertake an investigation into who had specific knowledge of the content of any sexually explicit communications between Mr. Foley and any former or current House pages and what actions such individuals took, if any, to provide them to law enforcement."
Notice how Rep. Hastert narrowed the scope of the investigation to leave his role out? My question is why didn’t House leadership aware of inappropriate e-mails (sexual or not) order an investigation to see if anything more disturbing was occurring? Whoever knew in 2005 that Mark Foley regularly communicated with underage male pages making bizarre requests, should also be investigated for their failure to search deeper. That includes the current denier, Speaker Hastert.
