I just finished watching Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert claim zero responsibility for not investigating Rep. Mark Foley’s inappropriate e-mails to underage male pages when he first became aware of this practice.
Sure, Speaker Hastert referred the case to the FBI and Florida Governor Bush for investigation and possible charges. Yes, Dennis displayed his personal moral outrage for Rep. Foley’s reprehensible actions. Not once did Rep. Hastert say “the buck stops here”. “I am responsible for not ordering an investigation last year and accept any consequences for this omission.”
Recall this is the non-investigating Republican Party. The White House’s Hurricane Katrina Lessons Learned report shows the few they do, are poorly done. Denny may have learned his non question answering skills from the President. George W. Bush owes me an answer.
