Dear President Bush,
Leaders in our country are dividing people along racial, economic and religious lines. Current hot topics include immigration, gay marriage, and Islamic fundamentalists. It turns out leaders elsewhere are doing the same thing.
Funny how Islamic fundamentalists are not one pot after all! Abu Musab al-Zarqawi is employing your tactics in dividing the Muslim community. He is pitting Sunni’s against Shiites, suggesting Sunni’s are the only “party of ideas”. Instead of “tax and spenders”, Zarqawi is calling the Shiites “invader collaborators”. In his speech he goes to great lengths to share how Shiites are harming Sunnis. It appears he wishes to foment a civil war in Iraq.
I suggest you watch his behavior. You might learn something, especially as you consider your next steps in Iran, Bolivia, and Venezuela. How might you encourage “democracy lovers” in those countries to rise up and overthrow those democratic backsliders? Zarqawi might have much to teach you.
It is sad to see leaders acting on behalf of the few to embolden their own ego and power needs. What happened to win/win? Why are so many leaders playing win/lose which everyone knows rapidly turns into lose/lose? Write me back, I want to know.
