Get Peaceful Countries to Broker Peace

A few days ago I stood ready to propose Switzerland broker peace in the Middle East as the current parties have failed for nearly 60 years. But this morning I found 13 other countries beat the neutral European nation in a Global Peace Index.

The peace rankings confirmed my suspicions about America not being a fair and honest broker for such efforts as the U.S. stood 96th out of 121 countries. Guess where the other Middle Eastern democracies landed? Lebanon, Israel, and Iraq all fared worse than their Western role model. They all failed with scores of 114, 119, and 121. The three shining democracies ended up in the bottom seven, with Iraq last.

Ironically the country with the largest Muslim population in the world, Indonesia ranked 78th. If Islamic jihadists are so numerous why did most Muslim countries beat the U.S.? Iran was the only non democratic loser to America. Their consolation could be they only lost by one...
