Pat Robertson Offers New Predictions while Still One Cause Behind

It’s that time of year again. If you were thinking New Year’s resolutions, wrong. It’s time for Rev. Pat Robertson to take his annual peek into that gypsy crystal ball to see what God has in store for America in 2007. Pat sees a “mass killing” after September. He did say terrorist sponsored so that knocks out bird flu, a category 4 or greater hurricane, or that tsunami he said would hit in 2006 but never did. Rev. Robertson went on to suggest the killing would be “nukular” (the Bush phonetic spelling of nuclear).

Unfortunately Pat is one cause behind. Despite attributing planes crashing into the Twin Towers as God’s anger over homosexuality, Rev. Robertson remained mute on the crash of his private jet. Why did God strike down Pat’s plane? If the divine is so mad at Pat that he would toss his Learjet into the drink, why would the deity give Pat insider information on coming events?

The 700 Club chief owes me a reasonable explanation before I put any stock in his calls for a “nukular” attack on America. However Pat’s timing is remarkable as the chess pieces move into place to thwart Iran’s nuclear enrichment capabilities. Israeli Prime Minister Olmert and U.S. President Bush could get considerable mileage from Pat’s prophecies. Both are itching to conduct a pre-emptive strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities. If Pat can get his followers fearful of an impending attack, then the only reasonable response is to get those bastards first! Or to have God order us to do it!

Pat went on to say God told him that the U.S. only feigns friendship with Israel and that U.S. policies are pushing Israel toward "national suicide." Funny I don’t recall any U.S. leaders suggesting the Jewish state utilize “the Sampson option” where if under overwhelming attack, the nation would drop nukes on itself. Jewish leaders came up with that all on their own. No, what Pat wants is for the U.S. to do more to help Israel. He also wants back in on the land development deal around the Sea of Galilee. After praying with Prime Minister Olmert during last summer’s attack on Lebanon, was Pat able to finagle his way back into the deal?

So we have leaders taking their sheep toward war so their business interests can profit. Welcome to 2007…
