Lightning struck two newsworthy objects, a six story statue of Jesus Christ and the ship processing oil spilled from BP's Deepwater Horizon well. Both caused fires.
Touchdown Jesus burned to the ground:
The Christ statue also served as a Sprint cellphone tower.
The Discoverer Enterprise shut down as a precaution after the fire. It stopped the flow of oil from the containment cap.
Strange days. They're getting stranger.
