Proof the Uninsured Won't be Addressed Anytime Soon

President Barack Obama revealed one component of his health care reform plan. It's remarkably Bush-like. He favors community health centers, federally supported primary care. CHC's do not have specialty care, unless they buy expensive malpractice coverage.

Access to quality primary care does reduce inappropriate hospital ER utilization. My community proved that in the late 1990's-early 2000's. But, Obama's CHC expansion implies people won't get health coverage anytime soon.

If all people had insurance, they could chose from providers, at least those still accepting patients with their payer source. The uninsured need CHC's, which provide care based on ability to pay.

Combine this with the President's ten year down payment on health reform in his budget and America looks like China will beat us to the punch with universal health care.
