President Jimmy Carter took it on the chin for “absent attributions” in his new book “Palestine Peace Not Apartheid”. Just as CBS News anchor Dan Rather got the story rights on President Bush’s large absence from service in his time in the Texas National Guard, Carter nails the overall milieu of long suffering Palestine at the hands of regional power Israel. Mr. Rather’s undoing arose from use of a memo, later found to be a forgery. Never mind the theme of the memo wanders freely in the recollection of some directly involved.
Jimmy’s shooters target maps used in the book. An author claims the President took maps he commissioned in his book and failed to cite the proper source. This same gentleman also disagreed with several point of fact in the Carter tome.
Mr. Carter must have hit a sensitive topic with the high profile response to his work. As usual shooting the messenger rises to the top of the list…
