This year's Easter events are sponsored by the American Egg Board. In the picture above, First Lady Laura Bush poses next to the 2008 State Easter Egg display. (The eggs pictured are unfertilized.) The event started in 1994, while Easter itself occurred some 2,000 years ago. God and Jesus inspired Easter events for much of the last two millenniums. Corporations, what is worshipped in free markets, took an official role the last decade or so. So raise a toast to the American Egg Board, the Halloween colored Bush pets (hopefully not dogs of war), and God/Jesus. Happy Easter to all!
