Conditions in Haiti are hauntingly reminiscent of Hurricane Katrina. The world sees:
Over a million homeless people without food, water or shelterWhile the Godly pontificate, locals do their best without resources. How will the U.S. and the world respond? It remains to be seen, but let's hope it's better than five days. The need is immediate and overwhelming. It's hard to believe NGO's can meet it without massive U.S. military support.
Overwhelmed first responders
Devastated, powerless hospitals
NGO's have the mission, but less capacity. America's military has the capacity, but not the mission. Pentagon Chief Donald Rumsfeld drug his feet post Katrina. Defense Secretary Gates is engaged on Haiti, but order timing is critical.
